Description
President Harry S. Truman's remarks at a dinner for members of Congress given by the Civil Air Patrol. The President spoke at 9:15 p.m. at the Shoreham Hotel in Washington. In his opening words he referred to Gen. Carl A. Spaatz, USAF, Chairman of the National Executive Board of the Civil Air Patrol, Thomas K. Finletter, Secretary of the Air force, and Sam Rayburn, Speaker of the House of Representatives.
